Meet the Honey Bell Pattern

A little garden, pieced one section at a time.

The Honey Bell brings together blooming flowers, leafy branches, and one very tiny bee in a statement foundation paper pieced block designed to be just as lovely on its own as it is repeated across an entire quilt.

The pattern begins by walking you through one complete Honey Bell block from your first cut to final assembly. Once you've learned the block, Part 2 takes you through making twelve and turning them into the full Honey Bell Quilt, complete with inner and striped borders. Yes, bestie! You're getting both patterns in one!

Make the block. Make the quilt. Or take the block and make something entirely your own.

Plan Your Honey Bell Block/Quilt

The original Honey Bell uses six fabrics to create the background, stems, leaves, flowers, wings, and little pieced bee.

One Pattern, Many Maker

See the Honey Bell through somebody else’s sewing room. One of my favorite parts of creating the Honey Bell pattern was seeing how completely different it became in the hands of each pattern testers.

Different fabrics. Different palettes. Different personalities. Same little bee.

Their versions are proof that Honey Bell doesn’t belong to one color palette. Make it soft. Make it bright. Make it moody. Pull from your stash. Make it Yours.
